The Advocate, NOTICE - - - SOUTHWEST OUACHITA WATERWORKS, INC. has filed a request with the Louisiana Public Service Commission for an increase in its rate for water service within its service area in the parish(s) of Ouachita and a small portion of Northeast Jackson. Our service fees will remain the same. This rate increase is necessary due to the increase in investments required to support our customers growing demand for water service as well as the additional capital expenditures needed to protect and improve our water supply. The existing water service monthly rate is $15 minimum (up to 2,000 gallons) plus $6 per thousand up to 15,000 gallons and $7 per thousand above 15,000 gallons for residential accounts; $70 minimum up to 10,000 gallons plus $7 per thousand above 15,000 gallons for commercial accounts. The proposed rate is $23 minimum (up to 2,000 gallons) plus $7.50 per thousand up to 15,000 gallons and $8.50 per thousand over 15,000 gallons for residential accounts; $125 minimum (up to 10,000 gallons) plus $8.50 per thousand over 10,000 gallons for commercial accounts.
