The Advocate, NOTICE - - - ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES AUGUST 18, 2015 The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on August 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the school board office at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana. The Invocation was led by Mr. Hughes. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Watkins. ROLL CALL: Mr. Owen, Mrs. Young, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Grice, Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, and Mr. Dayton. 1 ABSENT (Mrs. Fuselier) APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Hughes moved to approve the minutes of the following meetings: 07-09-2015 Parental & Community Involvement, 07-14-2015 Technology Committee, 07-21-2015 Academics & Extracurricular & Accountability, 07-21-2015 Work Session, 07-21-2015 Board Meeting, 08-04-2015 Workshop/Committee Meeting and 08-04-2015 Special Board Meeting. Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion. There was no public comment. VOTE: 8 YEAS 0 NAYS 1 ABSENT SUPERINTENDENT REPORT Mr. Devillier thanked everyone for coming. He announced that we had a great start in our school year. The AP Scholars were in the Sunday Advocate this past Sunday. Meet the Broncos will take place on Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Bronco Stadium. The Football Jamboree will take place on Friday, August 28, 2015, at the Bronco Stadium. On Friday, September 25, 2015 the Broncos will play in Shreveport against Calvary Baptist. The game will be televised on ESPNU. He announced that Zachary Football Team has been ranked among the top 100 great football teams in the nation. RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY FOOD PANTRY The board recognized Zachary Food Pantry. President Vince Giaccone, introduced the board members, Jackie Snowden and Max Lea. He told the board that they really appreciate the help that the schools have given, throughout the year. He recognized Chloe McCleary and Mandy Bradley, art teachers at Zachary High School, for organizing the Empty Bowls fundraiser each year. The funds allows the food pantry to feed more families in Zachary. POLICIES Mrs. Vessel moved to approve File: JBCE Public School Choice Policy. rs. Watkins seconded the motion. VOTE: 8 YEAS 0 NAYS 1 ABSENT ADMINISTRATIVE CONTRACT FOR ZACHARY CAREER AND TECHNICAL CENTER ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Mr. Hughes moved to approve the Administrative Contract for Kim Littles Assistant Principal at Zachary Career and Technical Center.
