The Advocate, PUBLIC NOTICE Department of Natural Resources Office of Conservation Injection & Mining Division RUBICON LLC Rubicon Geismar Facility Ascension Parish, Louisiana Pursuant to provisions of the laws of the State of Louisiana and particularly Title 30 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 as amended, and provisions of Statewide Order 29-N-2 (LAC 43:XVII.Subpart 2), notice is hereby given that Rubicon LLC of 9156 Highway 75, Geismar, Louisiana applied to the Office of Conservation for approval to drill, complete, and operate one new noncommercial, Class I Hazardous Waste Disposal Well at its chemical manufacturing facility in Section 011, Township 10 South, Range 02 East, near the town of Geismar, Ascension Parish. The proposed new well is identified as Waste Disposal Well No. 006. Subsurface waste disposal is proposed within an injection zone from 2,590 feet to 8,000 feet below ground. Initial injection is proposed from 7,490 feet to 7,640 feet below ground. The base of the lowermost underground source of drinking water in the area of the facility occurs at an approximate depth of 715 feet below ground. Anyone may submit written comments on the application or request a public hearing on the application. Requests for a public hearing must be in writing and state the nature of the issues proposed for discussion.
