The Advocate, NOTICE - - - CITY OF BAKER SCHOOL BOARD SPECIAL MEETING June 23, 2015 MINUTES The City of Baker School Board met in the Board Room of the City of Baker School Board Office beginning at 6:00 p.m. on June 23, 2015. Mrs. Elaine G. Davis, Board President, called the meeting to order. A roll call was taken by Mrs. Davis: ALEXANDER: Present CARPENTER: Present DAVIS: Present BOXIE: Present JOHNSON: Present A moment of silent meditation was led by Dr. Carpenter, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mrs. Alexander. Mrs. Davis welcomed all visitors to the meeting. Mrs. Davis asked for a motion to go into the work session, scheduled to begin following adjournment of the Board Meeting, and hold the Board Meeting at the conclusion of the work session because the Board Attorney was delayed in traffic. On motion of Dr. Carpenter seconded by Mrs. Boxie, the Board voted to adjourn the Board meeting and go into the work session. Voting yes: Davis, Boxie, Alexander, Carpenter and Johnson. Voting no: None. The Board entered into a work session to receive and discuss information from Mr. Kerry Drake, Regional President of Wright and Percy Insurance, and Ms. Jeanne Wallace, Employee Benefits Account Manager, on health insurance packages for City of Baker School System employees for plan year September 1, 2015 through August 30, 2016. On motion of Dr. Carpenter seconded by Mrs. Boxie, the Board voted to exit the work session and return to the Board Meeting. Voting yes: Davis, Boxie, Alexander, Carpenter and Johnson. Voting no: None. On motion of Mrs. Boxie seconded by Mrs. Johnson, the Board voted to approve the agenda. Voting yes: Davis, Boxie, Alexander, Carpenter and Johnson. Voting no: None. On motion of Mrs. Boxie seconded by Mrs. Johnson, the Board granted approval for a Reduction in Force (RIF) due to declining enrollment and budgetary shortfall. Voting yes: Davis, Boxie, Alexander, Carpenter and Johnson. Voting no: None. Mrs. Davis announced the next regular meeting of the City of Baker School Board would be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, beginning at 6:00 p.m. There being no further business, on motion of Mrs. Boxie seconded by Mrs. Johnson, the Board voted to adjourn at 7:50 p.m. Voting yes: Davis, Boxie, Alexander, Carpenter and Boxie.
